Dr. Jeffrey Feffer graduated from Northwestern University Dental School in 1981, and has been practicing dentistry in Lincoln Park for 30 years. Raised in Southern California, he received an undergraduate degree in Bacteriology and then a Masters degree in Public Health, specializing in infectious disease epidemiology from UCLA.
He has been a respected expert witness and consultant to the legal profession in matters related to alleged dental malpractice and the standard of care in dentistry for over 20 years, while being a full time dentist.
His practice philosophy is to provide thoughtfulness and compassion to his patients, while providing options of treatment. Precise and clinically demanding, he is relaxed and accomodating while working.
A longstanding member of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Dental Association, the Illinois State Dental Society, and the Chicago Dental Society, he has taken numerous courses in esthetic and prosthetic dentistry which allows him to design and place highly artistic and realistic restorations coupled with all types of prosthetic reconstruction.
He highly enjoys working with children, establishing long lasting relationships which allow children to grow up utilizing dental services without fear.
Dr. Feffer believes that the integration of basic healthful principles increases one's enjoyment of life and gives the best chance for a balanced life. He has been physically active his entire life. An avid runner and tennis player, he has run 5 marathons and numerous shorter races. Fluent in Spanish, he has gone to night school one night a week for the last six years to develop fluency in Italian as well.
At the end of 2011, Dr. Feffer was asked by Dr. Gilberto Munoz, Chicago Fire Team Physician, to be the Chicago Fire Team Dentist for the upcoming 2012 season. Appreciative of the ability to combine professional comaraderie with athletics, Dr. Feffer has enthusiastically accepted the position. In addition to providing emergency dental procedures for the players, he will do his best to be thoughtful and help the players be in optimal dental health prior to the start of the season.
Dr. Feffer is married to an audiologist, and has three daughters.
Dr. Sara Anwar
Dr. Sara Anwar graduated from University of Illinois at Chicago, College of Dentistry in 2011. She was born and raised in Egypt. She received her Bachelor's of Science degree in Biological sciences from University of Illinois at Chicago in 2007 with honors. She received the Dr. Alan Peterson scholarship and award in March 2011 for outstanding clinical excellence.
She has received extensive clinical training at UIC, and was one of a few chosen to participate in a year-long program that allowed her to rotate to different clinics and see diverse communities around the state. She has treated special needs patients, the homeless community, Union workers, children of all ages, and pregnant women.
Dr. Anwar wishes to fully utilize her professional experience for her patients in a general practice that provides quality dentistry. She is able to handle a great variety of tasks and responsibilities effectively and adjust well to all environments. She has been shadowing at Dr. Feffer's office throughout dental school, and is comfortable with the staff. She thinks that being a good team player allows for a comfortable environment among the staff and reflects on the quality of work offered to the patients.
She believes that her duty as a dentist is to provide service to those in need, particularly special needs patients. She volunteers once a month to provide services to the homeless individuals free of charge. She has a wide experience with children's behavioral management, and likes to provide treatment in the most comfortable atmosphere to all patients.
She loves to travel around the world, and learn about new cultures. She also likes to stay active, exercises daily and is working on her own cook book. She is fluent in Arabic, and is working to improve her Spanish.
